Stabilized Indonesian Ebony Burl Block.
This is a nice piece of ebony burl From Indonesia. Unique coloring and nice burl figure. I am not sure which species of ebony. Locally, they just call it ebony.
This block was professionally stabilized by K&G Stabilizing Services, industry leaders in wood stabilization. Their process uses high pressure to fully impregnate the wood fibers with a proprietary resin, which is then cured with heat to form a solid, durable matrix throughout the material. The result is a piece that’s significantly stronger and more stable than untreated wood—resistant to cracking, warping, and discoloration—while allowing you to achieve a smooth, high-gloss finish with ease. There may be small voids that could require a minor fill if any fall within your handle area.
