Untreated Oregon Big Leaf Maple Burl Block
This is a nice piece of Oregon Big Leaf Maple Burl with attractive color and strong burl figure. As is common with natural burl, there may be small voids or bark pockets. These can be easily filled with CA glue or epoxy, or they may trim away during shaping, depending on your project.
The wood has been left untreated for makers who prefer natural material or are working on projects that do not require chemical stabilization. It is fully dry and ready to use.
A light coat of aerosol lacquer has been applied to help protect the block during storage and handling. This coating can be easily removed or worked through when you begin shaping and finishing your project.
