Stabilized Curly Mango Block
I selected this piece as one of "My Favorites" because I really liked the darker coloring and because the figure is very bold all over this block.
This block is a piece of Mango with very good curly figure. The curly figure changes as it is moved around and the light hits from different angles. Over the past few years mango has been increasing in popularity with knifemakers.
Professionally stabilized by K&G Stabilizing Services, this block has been pressure-infused with their proprietary resin, which penetrates deep into the wood fibers. Once fully impregnated, the resin is cured with heat to create a solid, durable structure. This process enhances strength and stability, helping to prevent cracking, warping, and discoloration common in untreated wood. It also makes finishing easier, allowing you to achieve a smooth, high-gloss surface.
