This is a nice piece of old growth redwood burl. The wood displays a metallic-like luster that shifts in tone from light to dark as it catches the light from different angles. creating the illusion of movement beneath the surface.
This block was professionally stabilized by K&G Stabilizing Services, industry leaders in wood stabilization. Their process uses high pressure to fully impregnate the wood fibers with a proprietary resin, which is then cured with heat to form a solid, durable matrix throughout the material.
