Stabilized Dyed Maple Burl Block
This is a beautiful piece of Oregon Big Leaf Maple burl with rich dyed color and excellent figure. The burl figure shows attractively on both faces and along the edges, giving the block strong visual depth and movement.
I’ve left the natural burl surface on one end of this block at no extra charge. Many knifemakers in the past have incorporated the burl end into fighter and chef knife handles for a distinctive, organic look. However, the block is long enough to trim off the natural end if you prefer a traditional handle design.
Professionally stabilized by K&G Stabilizing Services, this block has been fully infused under high pressure with their proprietary resin and then heat-cured to create a solid, durable structure. The process greatly enhances strength and stability—helping to prevent cracking, warping, or discoloration that can occur in untreated wood—while making it easier to achieve a flawless, high-gloss finish.
