This is a beautiful piece of Oregon Big Leaf Maple burl with rich dyed color and excellent figure. Though slightly shorter in length, it would make an eye-catching addition to a segmented handle, especially paired with a contrasting collar. The burl figure shows attractively on both faces and along the edges, giving the block strong visual depth and movement.
Professionally stabilized by K&G Stabilizing Services, this block has been fully infused under high pressure with their proprietary resin and then heat-cured to create a solid, durable structure. The process greatly enhances strength and stability—helping to prevent cracking, warping, or discoloration that can occur in untreated wood—while making it easier to achieve a flawless, high-gloss finish.
